Color Lab

Color Sorter is a puzzle game where you have to mix colorful liquids!

It is my entry for the Brackey Game Jam 2023.1

The game was made solo. 

Controls: Mouse only

-  The first action is to change an upper color with the robot: Click the robot, then click a tube you want to switch. It must be a different color than the robot.

-  Click a tube to highlight it. Then click a tube you want to pour the color into.

Note:

Unfortunately, the 5th level is not working ( I must have switched some color during the intialisation...)

So don't spend too much time on it: consider it done if you have 2 half tube left.

Theme: An end is a new beginning

For this jam, I didn't have much time, so I looked into the casual world. I wanted to go simple, but with a polished menu and everything around the game (the thing I usually never do...).  It was more of challenge set for myself to create a fully playable menu and everything around it.
So I went for a typical puzzle game. The player has to sort each tube to get a unique color. 
The twist is that the last color touched by the player is taken by the robot, and will be used for the next level!

Background:

For the story, I am currently working on my first game. It is called Bicolor and is also heavily dependant on colors for platforming.  The robot is the main character of this game. So I was heavily inspired by this when thinking about ideas for the jam.

Bicolor takes place in a world in black and white, and a secret society called Black & White Corp. is experimenting with colors. So color sorter can be seen as one of their experiments, and should fit in the lore of Bicolor!

Current release:

Only 5 levels are available right now, and they aren't that difficult, but I am working on some more!

I worked on a colorblind setting, but unfortunately, I didn't have the time to implement it for the jam. However, rest assured that this is coming soon!
